My Senior Year During Covid
0/10, Wouldn't Do Again
Rest In Pieces, Senior Year
by Melanie Duru
Ever since I was a young kid, I dreamt of my senior year. I think this was borne out of my slight obsession with movies and TV shows centering around the high school experience. I remember thinking about prom, parties, and impromptu road trips. But obviously, I haven’t been able to live out my childhood wishes due to the Covid-19 pandemic at hand. I feel like if I were to have told my 12-year-old self that I wouldn’t be able to do a real graduation, or go to a proper ball, I would have been in complete shock at first, then in complete dismay. I was so sure of what I wanted to be when I grew up, and where I wanted to go for school, so if my younger self were to see me now, she’d definitely be confused. I just really want to express how Covid has thrown me in for a loop in this little blog. (Cover Image From Wix Library)
